Project Overview
· Client: Dodd Group (Midlands) Ltd
· Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
· Duration: Summer programme
D & T Mechanical worked alongside Dodd Group to carry out a full plantroom upgrade and classroom reheat works across the school.
The The Challenge
D&T Mechanical delivered a full mechanical upgrade on this project, beginning with the complete strip-out of all existing services. Our team designed and installed new offsite-prefabricated heating pipework, alongside three new boilers, pre-fabricated headers, and a new 80mm gas main. We also installed new domestic pipework to the hot water cylinder and integrated it seamlessly with the school’s existing copper express system. The works included extensive reheat upgrades, including the isolation, removal and replacement of heating pipework serving nine classrooms and three corridors, ensuring improved performance, reliability and long-term efficiency throughout the building.
D & T Mechanical's Role
Brought in after a successful tender, D & T Mechanical provided the labour and expertise that Dodd Group required to deliver both plantroom and reheat works. Offsite fabrication of headers and pipework accelerated progress, while their flexible approach ensured smooth installation within the limited programme.
The Results
The school’s heating and hot water systems were successfully renewed, with improved reliability and efficiency. D & T’s ability to balance plantroom works with classroom reheats demonstrated their capacity to handle complex, multi-area projects within education environments.
