D&T Mechanical delivered a full mechanical upgrade on this project, beginning with the complete strip-out of all existing services. Our team designed and installed new offsite-prefabricated heating pipework, alongside three new boilers, pre-fabricated headers, and a new 80mm gas main. We also installed new domestic pipework to the hot water cylinder and integrated it seamlessly with the school’s existing copper express system. The works included extensive reheat upgrades, including the isolation, removal and replacement of heating pipework serving nine classrooms and three corridors, ensuring improved performance, reliability and long-term efficiency throughout the building.
Our Case studies
Education
The works were carried out on a live school site. While most of the installation was completed during the six-week summer break, some activity continued while the school was operational. Ensuring that heating and water services remained available to staff and pupils required careful planning and phased works.
This was a live environment project in an operational university. The works required careful phasing and temporary systems to ensure minimal disruption while delivering a complex, traditional-design build.
